Did you know that Luther’s Farm Market hosts parties, cub scout / girl scout groups, preschool tours, and organizational get togethers? A “few” years back, my Uncle Eddie had a vision of teaching children how farms work, where their food actually comes from, and really just opening their eyes to what a typical day in a farmer’s life is like. Many of the first children to come visit our farm have since graduated high school and college – and we continue to provide this service, just as Uncle Eddie wanted. Eventually we opened up our farm to host parties and events so, I just wanted to let all of you know that we are currently booking reservations for the 2011 season. Typically, if you are having a school group come out during the day, you recieve access to the farm- hayride, pumpkin cannon, petting farm, a snack, craft, and take home souvenir. We have restrooms and tents w/ tables and chairs provided. Evening parties (say, if you want a Youth Group event during October) includes many of the same things- except Aunt Barb doesn’t read you a story while you sit on haybales waiting to find out what Farm Joe did with that big fat hen. If interested in booking or if you would like more information, contact Barbara Luther at 330.659.4327 and she would be happy to help you!

I have been hard at work trying to bring our market into the 21st century- updating our website, facebook, and essentially making your experience at Luther’s Farm Market more enjoyable.Â
Now, you can find all of the products sold at our market listed above under the “Products & Prices” tab. Everything is listed by category w/ the price so you might have a better idea about what we have available before your visit. I will do my best to update the list as we have new produce coming in.
ALSO, if you are a frequent shopper at our market and can’t live without sweet corn- I have started a punch card system. If you purchase 10 dozen ears of corn, you will receive your next dozen free! Make sure to ask for a card and get it marked by one of our helpful employees.
I know that many of you visit our market for our All Natural Beef that we offer. This week we will be getting in a shipment to have on hand for you- keep your eyes open for delicious steaks, ground beef, and more! Also, if you are interested, we offer our cows for sale by the 1/4, 1/2 or whole- a great opportunity to stock up your freezer for winter with beef that you know where it came from- LUTHER’S FARM! Ask any of our employees the next time you are in and they will be able to get you more information.
Hope to see all of you soon and as always, Support Your Local Farmer!

It is absolutely incredible how fast time seems to fly by- I feel like it was just fall and we were selling pumpkins and giving hayrides. The snow came and went and lets not even think about what this spring was like… All that rain! A few of you may notice that we are opening later than usual this season- that record amount of rain we had this past spring, just like the Milli Vanilli song “Blame It On The Rain”. Mother Nature threw us and most farmers for a loop and planting had a later start than usual. Farmer Bob was really starting to wonder what to do with his time, until he filled it with rebuilding a burnt up John Deere tractor. I think they were all chomping at the bit to get crops into the ground and when it finally did get dry enough- Bob, Tim, and Andy put in countless hours to get caught up. I have to admit, there’s nothing like sitting on the porch and listening to a tractor working the fields when it’s pitch black out.
So, eventually things got planted and now we are preparing for our opening and for the traveling markets. This year, our home market will open on Friday July 15th and when I know for sure I will post times, dates, and locations for our traveling markets. I hope to implement some exciting new changes this year and to look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces again. I know that this season is going to be a tough one, but we appreciate all of your support!  See you on the 15th!!!
